No pun intended in the title.

First of all, I don't even know why this game is called Braid. (It's the latest Xbox LIVE Arcade game just very recently available for download.)

Secondly, braid or no, it does make you want to yank your hair out in fit of frenzy because it's one of those games that tests your sleep-deprived brain to the fullest.

Before I go any further, video:

Braid is a puzzle game disguised to look like a 2D platformer. You run around like a headless duck gathering jigsaw puzzle pieces in order to rescue a princess.

I don't know. I don't see the connection (yet).

The puzzle pieces are there. They're everywhere. It's just that they're hard to reach. Some of them are so hard to reach that you want to strangle the princess for making you go through that.

But that's the fun of games, isn't it? If a game is not infuriatingly challenging, it can't be that fun.

I think Braid is fun, even if it's making me lose hair. You feel so good about yourself each time you manage to solve a puzzle and get that elusive jigsaw piece that a few strands of lost hair is worth it.

Oh, and I love that you can't die in the game. You can only get stuck. You can't die because you can rewind anything, any time. Fall into a thorny pit? Rewind. Get eaten by a monster? Rewind.

It's like a free Ctrl-Z button only better because the animation is funny.
